Summary:

Industry Setting - Shepley Bulfinch is an architecture, planning, and interior design practice with 180 employees in one office and 133 years of experience. In order for us to stay competitive in a national market that is trending toward larger, multi-office firms, our message of fresh, innovative design and lasting quality has to hit home.

Challenge - How could we make the answer to the question “Who is Shepley Bulfinch?” synonymous with design excellence? How should we celebrate our legacy without letting the past define us?

Strategy - Our new president led the way, moving the firm to open offices stripped of hierarchy. A new creative director then mapped out a strategy to raise our graphic design to a quality that matched our architectural work. Working with a “brand team” to refine the message, we vested staff in the rebrand’s vision and success. A clean, fresh design was introduced throughout, including the firm’s name, the website, font selection, images, project selection, and language.

Result - The change in how the firm is perceived is palpable, from the buzz on the street and the caliber of new staff to clients’ reactions when they step through our door. Everything clients now touch – from business cards to brochures – speaks to the new Shepley.
